Happy May!
Hello from a sunny Nebraska where spring is in full bloom finally. Tulips, bleeding hearts and daffodils are showing off in our perennial garden and our peony tree is getting ready to bloom. Azalea and rhododendrons won't be far behind. Hubby planted the vegetable garden last weekend and I'll be filling the planters with colorful annuals in the next couple of weeks. I love this time of year!
It has felt so good to be back at the easel again...finally! I've been working on some miniature paintings the past week, just in time for Mother's Day, wedding gifts, or any occasion...or just because. Check out the four mini floral pieces below, fresh off the easel. These are available at the gallery or through my website, so just click on the images if you're interested!
And speaking of fresh off the easel, the painting above, "Spring Day on the Platte," (8x16 oil) was painted just yesterday at a private cabin along the Platte River south of Omaha. It was a spectacular spring day...perfect for painting outdoors and capturing all the wonderful variety of spring greens. I did a very similar view from the same property last fall, so it was fun to capture it in a different season!
We are so happy to announce our gallery is open again now! Regular hours are Thursday and Friday, 11am to 5pm, and Saturday, 10am to 2pm. Other hours by appointment or by chance (I open the gallery if I'm in the studio painting). Thank you for your patience as I recovered from my knee replacement surgery! If you are in our area, please stop by and say hi! There are lots of new things to see and lots of great gift ideas for Mother's Day. Please note that we will be out of town May 31st through June 18th so the gallery will be closed while we are away.
Thank you to everyone who came by for our Ralston Wine Walk a couple of weeks ago...we had a great turnout of nearly 200 people! And congratulations to Cindy E., winner of the $50 gift certificate giveaway!
